With the increase in China's aid to African countries in recent years, the specific impact of China's aid on African recipient countries has also received increasing attention. Using “BACI Bilateral Trade Data”, “AidData China-to-Africa Aid Data”, and “World Development Index (WDI) Database” between 2000 and 2013, this paper empirically investigates the impact of China's aid to Africa on the export structure of African recipient countries. This paper finds that China's aid to Africa will indeed increase the share of total exports of African recipient countries that match their level of development and reduce the share of total exports of African recipient countries that do not match their level of development. Therefore, China's aid helps to transform the export structure of African countries in a direction more suitable for its own economic development and good for their healthy economic development.
